THE CHALLENGE

The pillars of our political system are shaking and posing a profound threat to our economy, our national security, and our ability to come together as citizens to solve common problems.

That’s why we — a diverse partnership of grassroots groups, business leaders, and national organizations with different political affiliations — are coming together to Fix the System.

Fix the System partners are currently pressing Congress to establish an independent, objective commission to review the events of January 6th and to make recommendations to ensure this kind of attack never happens again. The coalition also supports gerrymandering reform, ensuring every American’s right to vote in free and fair elections, and other crosspartisan political reforms.

Fix the System’s work is based on principles that unite Republicans, Democrats, and independents to put voters first.

We believe in increasing citizen participation

  • Better prepare citizens to take an active role in our political system

  • Enhance the influence of citizens on policy

  • Expand voter choice and competition in elections

We believe in strengthening the integrity of our civic infrastructure.

  • Enforce the nation’s election laws and close loopholes

  • Combat foreign election interference and update aging election systems

  • Increase political campaign finance transparency

We believe in upholding constitutional responsibility

  • Promote a more effective and empowered Congress

  • Help members of Congress spend more time legislating and less time fundraising

  • Bolster government oversight and ethics
